An X user posted the video where Schroeder, who was wearing a t-shirt with the words "WARRIORS FOR CHRIST," was approached by the police while he was quoting scripture. A cop grabbed the preacher's microphone before he even finished speaking. Confused, Schroeder was heard asking: "What are you doing?" Fellow protester Jason Storms, who recorded the viral video, said they were not given any warning and were allowed in the area to speak freely.

As the policemen were putting Schroeder in handcuffs, another officer said Schroeder was being arrested for sharing his message with the use of a microphone and a speaker. "You guys are acting like thugs," Storms told the officers. "He has every right to be out here engaging in speech…you know that you just did wrong." Storms argued that the ordinance they cited as the reason for arresting Schroeder only provided a certain decibel level of amplified sounds that could be prohibited. "Cars pass by with loud music," he said adding, why aren't these drivers arrested? But the officers just turned their backs and took Shroeder, anyway.
The Republic Sentinel reported that the young preacher was charged with unlawful use of sound amplification and resisting arrest. The Wisconsin police department has yet to respond to questions regarding the nature of the charges against Schroeder. Meanwhile, a concerned citizen who called the local law enforcement said, they will not release any information regarding the arrest without a public record request.
I called Watertown Wisconsin this morning trying to get more information on the young man that was arrested and his Bible taken away. The Watertown Police Department has no public statement and will not release any information without a FOI request. They are aware the video is… https://t.co/emAWDGaEpS pic.twitter.com/kbzMHWAwR4

Schroeder was not the only one arrested on Saturday; he was joined by several other young people. Nick Proell, another young Christian, was also detained and removed from the venue but later released with a warning.
"The police, per orders from city leaders, arrested several young people. Three were arrested earlier in the day while inside the park praying and talking to attendees, and then released with warnings,” said Storms, who serves as minister of evangelism at the Mercy Seat Christian Church. "It was open to the public, thus the public's right to free speech carries with them. One was arrested later in the day for preaching on the public sidewalk outside the venue and is being charged with unlawful use of sound amplification and resisting arrest."
According to Storms, there were several dozen police officers assembled to protect the drag queen event. They saw performers dressed in lingerie while "dancing and gyrating in front of little children, who were invited to give them one-dollar bills." The said show was mounted despite Wisconsin's law that prohibits individuals from causing a minor to view or listen to "sexually explicit conduct." Following the arrest, Schroeder spoke to the news outlet and vowed to continue spreading the word of God, despite what happened. "It was worth it. It's actually an honor to be counted worthy to stand with the cloud of witnesses who have gone before us and been arrested for the sake of spreading Christ and His Kingdom. If the police wanted to try and set an example for others or anything like that, the only thing I’ve seen is actually the exact opposite, where more and more people are seeing the severity of what’s going on and being called to more action," he stated.
Proell agreed, saying that he "absolutely" does not regret his detainment. "I'd do it all over again if it gives me an opportunity to share the good news and rescue innocent children being sexualized by their parents," he said. "God will use it for good. We will stand for truth even if we stand alone."
