4th Branch with Tony and Sofia: Robert Stone discusses the CENSORSHIP of Trump and RFK Jr.
By Belle Carter // Jul 03, 2023

Two major presidential candidates for the 2024 election are still being censored.

This is according to veteran political operative Roger Stone, who discussed his observations surrounding the censoring of two prominent presidential candidates – Republican candidate former President Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. – during an episode of "4th Branch" with hosts Sofia Karstens and Tony Lyons on American Media Periscope.

Stone, who was a long-time adviser to Trump, pointed out that Kennedy's campaign is being damaged as three major television networks as well as some cable news networks – along with much of the mainstream media – are refusing to cover him fairly. (Related: RFK JR: "There is no time in history where the people censoring speech were the good guys.")

"On the other hand, I think he's been extraordinarily successful and resourceful at using the new media to break through anyway," the pundit pointed out, adding that he believes Kennedy is extraordinarily interesting, provocative, thoughtful and "never boring."

"I've never seen him cornered, where he couldn't actually document anything he's ever said, which is really quite extraordinary," he added. "I actually think he is making extraordinary progress, given the levels of censorship that he's subjected to."

Despite this, Kennedy is still being blacklisted from most mainstream media and social media platforms. One recent media appearance of Kennedy being interviewed by former New York Post reporter Al Guart has been taken off of YouTube due to a supposed violation of the website's vaccine misinformation policy.

On the other side of the political spectrum is Trump, who has been banned from large social media platforms and yet has still found a way to get his thoughts shared by remaining active on the alternative microblogging platform, Truth Social. According to Stone, the move to this site was great as it is a great avenue for speaking to the base.

"If you want to talk to your own supporters, it's a great place to very effectively do that. But if you want to get beyond your supporters, to the extent that he utilizes social media, it's really time to return to Twitter. I think sooner or later, he will do so," he said, thanking Twitter CEO Elon Musk for reinstating the former president's account. Trump has also been admitted back on Facebook.

Stone to Trump and Kennedy: Never quit

When asked by Lyons for a piece of good advice for Kennedy and Trump in dealing with people that want to shoot them down, Stone quickly said: Never quit.

"Man is not finished when he's defeated. He's only finished when he quits. I think Robert Kennedy has a historic opportunity. Because he's compelling, he has a real message. And his poll numbers are impressive, which shows that the alternative media strategy is working," Stone noted.

Meanwhile, in Trump's case, Stone said it is a question of timing, especially now that the GOP flag bearer is currently in dark and difficult times.

"I think they both in essence really need to continue doing what they're doing, which is to remember that politics is always about the future," said Stone. "People want to know more than just what have you done. They want to know what you are going to do."
