Associated Press makes major mistake – almost starts World War III with fake news report about missile that killed two people in Poland
By JD Heyes // Nov 16, 2022

Another example of just how biased the so-called "fact-checkers" are, along with the major social media gatekeepers who claim to care so much about policing "misinformation," was just demonstrated by none other than The Associated Press.

In fact, the AP got something so wrong it nearly caused World War III -- but the 'newswire' service will not get punished by Facebook, Twitter, or the fake 'news' monitor NewsGuard because the AP is a member of the left-wing legacy "mainstream" media.

Earlier this week, quoting an unnamed "senior American intelligence official," the AP reported that a missile that landed in NATO ally Poland was fired by a Russian battery. Only, as more information became known in the aftermath, it turns out that the missile was indeed Russian, but it was fired by a Ukrainian missile defense battery.

In a "correction," the AP reported:

The Associated Press reported erroneously, based on information from a senior American intelligence official who spoke on condition of anonymity" ...and we the know rest which unleashed a day of incessant warmongering based on the allegation that Russia attacked a NATO member. The incredibly embarrassing correction further states, "Subsequent reporting showed that the missiles were Russian-made and most likely fired by Ukraine in defense against a Russian attack.

Not long after the missile -- which killed two Polish citizens -- landed, there were discussions that Warsaw may try to invoke Article V of the NATO treaty, which requires all NATO countries to go to war to defend any member who falls under attack.

And if that had happened, it would have triggered a third world war with Russia and its allies.

Earlier, a White House statement backed the Poland and NATO assessment that the Tuesday border explosion was "most likely the result of a Ukrainian air defense missile that unfortunately landed in Poland."

The statement by National Security Council Spokesperson Adrienne Watson, a spokeswoman for the National Security Council, also noted that the U.S. has "full confidence" in the Polish government's ongoing investigation.

"We have seen nothing that contradicts President Duda’s preliminary assessment that this explosion was most likely the result of a Ukrainian air defense missile that unfortunately landed in Poland," she said.

"We will continue to assess and share any new information transparently as it becomes available. We will also continue to stay in close touch with the Ukrainians regarding any information they have to fill out the picture," she added.

Nevertheless, she still blamed the incident on Russia, as did NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg:  "That said, whatever the final conclusions may be, it is clear that the party ultimately responsible for this tragic incident is Russia, which launched a barrage of missiles on Ukraine specifically intended to target civilian infrastructure. Ukraine had — and has — every right to defend itself."

"We again express our solidarity with the people of Ukraine and our condolences for the losses they suffered in these barbaric airstrikes. We know that millions more Ukrainians remain without power, water and basic necessities as a result. Our thoughts and prayers go out again to the loved ones of the two Polish citizens tragically killed," said Watson.

At the same time, Joe Biden, the fake president, began pimping Congress while Dems still Control the House for another massive injection of American taxpayer funds into the bottomless money pit that is Ukraine -- $37 billion.

Some lawmakers -- Republicans, mostly -- are calling for an end to the endless funding, at least until Americans can be shown what the tens of billions that have already been spent there have paid for.

"I’m calling for an audit of all US aid and funding to Ukraine. The American people deserve to know how their money is being spent in defense of another nation’s border while the Biden regime ignores the threat to our national security everyday at our own border," Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) tweeted this week.
