Steve Bannon sentenced to hard prison time for high crime of ignoring Jan. 6 committee subpoena in latest proof that DoJ is corrupt

Former top Trump advisor Steve Bannon has been handed a jail sentence after he upset the highly partisan Jan. 6 Committee by ignoring their subpoena under a claim of executive privilege.

This travesty of politicized justice took place on Friday when a federal judge overseeing the case sentenced Bannon to four months of hard prison time and a fine of $6,500. He was found 'guilty' in July of being in contempt of Congress -- the same charge that Barack Obama's attorney general, Eric Holder, was guilty of after he, too, ignored a congressional subpoena. But of course, he wasn't about to arrest and charge himself, and naturally, Obama didn't force him to comply because Democrats don't hold themselves accountable and believe they are above the law.

"I want to say one thing — I respect the judge, the sentence he came down with today is his decision. I've been totally respectful to this entire process on the legal side," Bannon said after the sentencing, according to Fox News.

The report continued:

Bannon was released pending appeal, which he and his legal team promised to make. If an appeal is not made, Bannon must surrender voluntarily by Nov. 15, U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols ruled.

Bannon predicted his political opponents will be voted out on Election Day.

The Justice Department had recommended a six-month prison sentence and a $200,000 fine for the former Trump aide due to his failure to comply with a subpoena to appear before the House Select Committee investigating Jan. 6.

"I want to thank all you guys for coming," Bannon said upon entering the courthouse Friday. "Remember this illegitimate regime, their judgment day is on the eighth of November when the Biden administration ends. I want to thank you all for coming."

"And remember, take down the CCP. Thank you," he added quickly, a reference to the Chinese Communist Party, or more specifically, the Chinese government.

Prosecutors sought a longer sentence of six months, claiming he engaged in "bad behavior" by refusing to appear for questioning before the Democrat-controlled committee that has not interviewed a single witness in defense of former President Donald Trump -- and isn't going to.

"From the moment that the Defendant, Stephen K. Bannon, accepted service of a subpoena from the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol, he has pursued a bad-faith strategy of defiance and contempt," federal prosecutors argued on Monday.

"The Committee sought documents and testimony from the Defendant relevant to a matter of national importance: the circumstances that led to a violent attack on the Capitol and disruption of the peaceful transfer of power. In response, the Defendant flouted the Committee's authority and ignored the subpoena's demands," they argued further.

Noted former White House official and Revolver News editor Darren Beattie on Twitter following Bannon's sentencing: "Steve Bannon is a living legend and force of nature in politics and media One of the few irreplaceable talents in the arena And one of the few tough enough to face the storm our illegitimate Regime visits on its most effective critics."

Republicans look on pace to sweep back into power in Congress next month during the midterm elections, and one of the things GOP leaders plan to do first is to disband the Jan. 6 Committee.

Maybe they shouldn't. It might be a better idea to replace it with Republican lawmakers and go after all of the liars and deep state operatives who set up the Jan. 6 false flag attack on the U.S. Capitol Building.

Then again, Biden's politicized DoJ won't act on their subpoenas. Hide and watch.
