Washington Post blatantly lies about what happened to George Floyd on two-year anniversary to stoke more racial division
By JD Heyes // May 30, 2022

The Washington Post's moniker is "Democracy Dies In Darkness," but the newspaper of record in the nation's capital literally works to destroy democracy on a daily basis with fact-less, biased fake news.

This past week as the two-year anniversary of the death of George Floyd drew near, the Post made sure to mention it because the summer of violence and riots in 2020 following his death wasn't enough, apparently.

But the Post didn't just remind readers of the date; the paper blatantly lied about the manner in which Floyd died.

"On May 25, 2020, George Floyd was shot and killed in police custody. His death sparked outrage, wide scale protests and calls to change policing. Two years later, what has -- or hasn't changed?" said a tweet from the paper along with a link to a story full of propaganda.

Never mind the fact that "widescale" was misspelled, although that is significant in and of itself. But, Floyd wasn't shot to death; he died after being pinned to the pavement by the knee of then-Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin. What contributed to his death is also significant: Floyd, a felon with priors, was high on drugs and was resisting arrest.

And whether you agree or disagree with the manner in which Chauvin was detaining him, at the time, an officer using a knee to subdue a suspect was part of the MPD's training and was completely legal to use.

But...but...but Floyd was complaining that he couldn't breathe, argue his defenders. If that were true and no air was moving into his lungs he also would not be able to speak. So there's that.

Chauvin was eventually convicted of second- and third-degree murder and will spend the rest of his life behind bars, being held responsible for a death that was, frankly, not really his fault. Yes, he was the one who pinned Floyd to the pavement, but it was an approved restraint technique in use at the time by his department and an autopsy found that Floyd most likely died from heart failure due to the excessive amount of drugs he had in his system.

As for the Washington Post, that's another story, so to speak.

The newspaper has an extensive history of publishing false information and never being held accountable for it. Throughout Donald Trump's presidency, the Post -- like every other mainstream media rag covering D.C. politics -- published one fake news story after another regarding the then-president, starting with the fabricated narrative that Trump was in cahoots with Vladimir Putin and that the both of them conspired to steal the election from the hapless and unpopular Hillary Clinton.

Then, when her cronies in the deep state literally stole Trump's reelection from him, the Post claimed that the election was on the level, there was no mass vote fraud, and Joe Biden legitimately got 81 million votes, more than any president in the history of the country -- the same guy who, during the campaign, could not draw flies to a manure festival and had difficulty speaking clearly and remembering details, even then.

Between 2016 and 2020, the Post allowed itself to be used as a portal by the intelligence apparatus and the CIA to spread fake news planted by operatives to hurt and undermine Trump and his surrogates and advocates every step of the way. When those fake news reports failed to lead to Trump's demise, then the deep state went after his associates: Steve Bannon, Paul Manfort, Roger Stone, Michael Flynn, and others.

And every step of the way, the Post was a willing accomplice to the fakery.

The Washington Post is a newspaper in the nation's capital, that much is true. But it's not a media operation, it's a disinformation hub for the deep state.
