The authoritarian kooks in the mainstream media have become even more so during the COVID-19 pandemic, with one of them now demanding that Joe Biden implement a no-holds-barred vaccine mandate nationwide and that he order the military to enforce it.
CNBC "Mad Money" host Jim Cramer is already getting hysterical over the new "omnicron" variant despite the fact that the scientist who discovered it told the world not to panic because thus far, she has seen nothing but mild cases.
But no matter; the media mob authoritarians have a job to do: Continue gaslighting the country into empowering a federal government the media was established (by our founders) to hold in check and accountable.
“With the new omicron variant sweeping the globe, how do we finally put an end to this pandemic? How do we save lives and get business back to normal so everybody can put dinner on the table?” the host asked during a program last week.
His proposal is simply this: “The federal government needs to require vaccines, including booster shots, for everyone in America by, say, January 1st.”
The host noted further that “it’s time to admit that our government has lost the ability, or the will, to make our people do the right thing.”
“Nobody wants to be the bad guy, so we’ve allowed a pastiche of uncoordinated health organizations to dictate an on-again-off-again series of measures that mostly just leave us baffled and confused,” he said, citing the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) — the agency that was responsible for imposing Biden’s vaccine mandate for companies that have 100 or more workers, but then paused it after federal courts ruled it unconstitutional — for being “toothless” and noncommittal.
He also ripped Americans who, for whatever personal reasons, do not want to get a vaccine and have no plans to.
“We haven’t centralized the issue to the point where the White House actually seems to take responsibility,” he continued. “First was the CDC, then the FDA, the National Institutes of Health, mostly coordinating policy through talk shows. Then we left vaccination policy to individual companies.
“Now it’s toothless OSHA going back and forth on what’s allowed in factories, but nobody with any power saying the frontline workers need to be vaccinated. It’s just plain wrong, and most of us are sick of it,” he said, without citing any evidence to back up his claims.
“Even as a vocal, anti-vax minority is always grabbing the mic, this charade must end. The government must require vaccinations. Not of this group or that group, not company by company, in a cruise ship by cruise ship or airline by airline or governor by governor. The buck stops at the White House,” he added.
He then compared COVID jabs to the polio vaccine, though there is no comparison, and said "it's time to admit that we have to go to war against COVID.”
“Require vaccination universally. Have the military run it,” he noted.

Meanwhile, the researcher who discovered the omicron variant has said thus far it does not pose anywhere near the threat to health as earlier strains.
In urging calm, South African Dr. Angelique Coetzee said that patients who contract the new variant are only experiencing “extremely mild symptoms.”
“Their symptoms were so different and so mild from those I had treated before,” she said, further noting that “currently there’s no reason for panicking as we don’t see severely ill patients.”
“The most predominant clinical complaint is severe fatigue for one or two days, with then the headache and the body aches and pain. Some of them will have what they call a scratchy throat and some will have a cough — a dry cough, but it’s not a constant cough, it comes and goes. And that’s more or less the big symptoms that we have seen,” Coetzee added.
