Doctors call out NEJM for publishing sloppy, fake science bashing hydroxychloroquine
By Ethan Huff // Aug 31, 2020

World-renowned infectious disease specialist Dr. Didier Raoult, with the support of three of his colleagues, has published an "expression of concern" regarding some of the junk science that has been published in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) as of late.

Posted to the website of the University Hospital Institute IHU-Méditerranée Infection in Marseille, this expression of concern chides the NEJM for publishing so-called studies that were conducted using sloppy or flat-out falsified research methods.

Most notably in recent days are the fake science papers published in the NEJM that declare hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) to be an ineffective and unsafe remedy for the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19). There are also corresponding papers that shamelessly promote the use of competing drugs like remdesivir, all the while intentionally hiding their deadly side effects.

"How long will you abuse our patience?" Dr. Raoult and his colleagues wrote, this being an English translation from their original Latin.

"We ask the same question to the NEJM: how long will you abuse our patience? The biases shown in the studies on COVID-19 have gone beyond, as in the Lancet, for example, everything that has been seen so far. Please give us back a journal that we can use for medical education, that does not contradict all principles we have used for so many years."

As usual, Big Pharma is behind the push to demonize HCQ while pushing not just remdesivir but also the slew of "Operation Warp Speed" Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccines that are soon on the way. Listen below to The Health Ranger Report to learn more:

Dr. Raoult's hospital where HCQ is administered has the lowest COVID-19 death rate in France

Another prominent medical journal that has similarly been publishing a whole lot of fake science in recent days is the Lancet which, as you may recall, was forced to retract a junk paper bashing HCQ.

The paper turned out to have been completely fabricated and was never even peer reviewed, and yet the Lancet somehow saw fit to publish it despite its supposedly rigorous standards.

Dr. Raoult, by the way, is a huge proponent of HCQ because he has used it alongside azithromycin to successfully treat more than 3,000 patients over the past several months. And not once, he says, have the dangerous side effects warned about in fake science papers published in the NEJM and the Lancet ever manifested.

Based on the fact that neither of these two journals seems at all concerned about the fact that they published flagrantly fake science has led Dr. Raoult to the conclusion that they no longer conform "to the minimum standards that we teach students from the 3rd year of medicine onwards."

"For COVID-19 therapeutic trials, several publications in the NEJM have reported analyses where patients were not tested but included in the analyses," Dr. Raoult further explains. "We teach our students not to do that. In some cases, this reaches extraordinary levels."

One example that Dr. Raoult presents is a paper involving 821 asymptomatic patients who were enrolled through social media to receive either HCQ or placebo as a post-exposure prophylaxis. None of these individuals were confirmed to have had the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19), but were merely self-assessed for symptoms "considered to be consistent with COVID."

"Yes, you read that correctly: “asymptomatic participants” were enrolled because their self-reported “illness” — and illness is revealed by symptoms — was consistent with COVID," writes Jeanne Smits, the Paris correspondent for LifeSiteNews.

In other words, the numbers are being fudged and the methodologies skewed to produce predetermined outcomes, which is anything but sound science.
