Conservatives and constitutionalists have slowly been losing their political grip on Virginia for years, and finally lost all control earlier this month when Democrats swept both chambers of the Legislature.
Old Dominion, home to Presidents George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, among other founders, is now being governed by Left-wing anti-American Democrats who more closely resemble descendants of the authoritarian British monarchy than our founding fathers.
Case in point: Democrats including Gov. Ralph “Blackface KKK” Northam promised to go after guns if they won control of the state and they are keeping their promise.
But they’re not offering up run-of-the-mill ‘gun control legislation.’ They’re going after anyone who actually trains people in the proper use of firearms, deeming such activity “militia-related” and, thus, a felony.
As reported by All News Pipeline, Virginia Senate Bill No. 64, which was pre-filed November 21 and is currently scheduled to be offered Jan. 8, would amend existing state law “relating to paramilitary activities.”
A person shall be, amended to is guilty of unlawful paramilitary activity, punishable as a Class 5 felony if he:
— Teaches or demonstrates to any other person the use, application, or making of any firearm, explosive, or incendiary device, or technique capable of causing injury or death to persons, knowing or having reason to know or intending that such training will be employed for use in, or in furtherance of, a civil disorder; or
— Assembles with one or more persons for the purpose of training with, practicing with, or being instructed in the use of any firearm, explosive, or incendiary device, or technique capable of causing injury or death to persons, intending to employ such training for use in, or in furtherance of, a civil disorder; or
— Assembles with one or more persons with the intent of intimidating any person or group of persons by drilling, parading, or marching with any firearm, any explosive or incendiary device, or any components or combination thereof.
Criminalizing firearms instruction
Now, the proposed law does include one caveat — training in firearms “for use in, or in furtherance of, a civil disorder…” But these are Democrats we’re talking about, so it makes perfect sense that Left-wing prosecutors would use this new language to target innocent gun training courses and claim they were engaging in ‘revolutionary’ activities.
Think about it: Does Virginia currently have a problem with ‘revolutionaries’ who want to overthrow the government?
Not from conservatives and gun owners, certainly. In fact, the only people using language like “the resistance” and “this is war” is the perpetually unhinged Left, who vote for (anyone? anyone?) Democrats.
Trump supporters are constantly accused of supporting an “authoritarian” president but he hasn’t taken away a single right nor pushed to have any constitutional amendments repealed.
But Democrats are constantly pushing to limit the Second Amendment. And in the past, many elected Democrats have made it quite clear they would abolish our right to keep and bear arms if they could get away with it.
Anyone who questions this crazy proposed law in Virginia will be shouted down as a ‘kook conspiracy theorist’ by Leftist Democrats, but there is no other conclusion to reach: Virginia Democrats want to criminalize firearms instruction, and they want to do so under the guise of ‘combatting dangerous militia activities.’
At some point, if this legislation becomes law — and it likely will because Virginia Democrats are bent on attacking the Second Amendment — constitutionalists in George Washington’s home state will need to decide if they’re willing to live under the yoke of tyranny like the one our founders threw off.
Because if they tolerate this, Virginia Democrats are going to get bolder in their efforts to destroy a basic tenet of our Bill of Rights: Keeping and bearing arms for self-defense and defense against an authoritarian government.
