This time it's ESPN, which has joined the NBA in warning its hosts and pundits not to publicly express any support whatsoever for the pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong.
According to reports, ESPN Senior News Director Chuck Salituro recently sent out a memo instructing its staff members to avoid making mention of the political opposition between mainland China and Hong Kong, which is similar to what the NBA did to Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey.
Even as China continues to commit horrific human rights abuses against political prisoners, American corporations and sports leagues are rushing to take China's side, proving that their loyalties lie elsewhere beyond the borders of the United States.
At the same time that ESPN and the NBA won't let those on their payrolls talk about Hong Kong, they both openly support boycotting North Carolina simply because of the state's transgender bathroom laws.
In other words, far-left causes, including oppressive communism, are directly in line with the "values" of both ESPN and the NBA, while supporting natural biology remains completely off limits, possibly resulting in termination.

At this point, if you still believe that professional sports are an innocent American pastime, then you're not paying attention. Both ESPN and the NBA have openly proclaimed their opposition to American values, not just as it pertains to communist China, but also in their support for every LGBTQ perversion under the sun.
While the North Carolina bathroom fiasco was taking place, numerous ESPN hosts, including Rachel Nichols, decried the Tar Heel State for being "homophobic" and "transphobic," and even compared conservative efforts to protect innocent children from LGBTQ bathroom predators to the "lunch counter" discrimination that took place during the Civil Rights era.
ESPNW's Katie Barns also celebrated the LGBTQ mafia's efforts to forcibly allow perverts into restrooms where they don't belong, bashing those on the right who expressed deep concerns about how these changes would negatively impact children who would be put in harm's way.
ESPN also adopted the talking points of leftist race-baiters when it expressed unwavering support for Jemele Hill, who repeatedly used the sports network as a personal platform to push her radical, anti-white sentiments that she called "social justice."
In 2016, for instance, Hill was allowed to declare on ESPN that the U.S. does "everything possible to undermine the LGBTQ community," even as she said absolutely nothing about the actual persecution against LGBTQs that takes place every single day in China.
Just like climate hysteric Greta Thunberg, Hill refused to mention China because doing so would have been "off-script" – and we can't have that! No, it's just about bashing the U.S. and accusing it of every evil ever concocted, without evidence (of course...).
ESPN also indicated back in 2013 that it hates Christians and Christianity, having chided and "disavowed" some statements that commentator Chris Broussard expressed in support of holding a Christian worldview with regards to homosexuality.
"Clearly, with the league (NBA) kowtowing to China's dictates and refusing to denounce the country over its dismal human rights record, ESPN is taking its cue from its big-dollar business partner," writes Warner Todd Huston for Breitbart News.
"Accusing Americans of evil – real or imagined – is fine with this sports network. But the real abuses of the Chinese are off-limits," he adds.
