At the same time Democrats keep telling everyone they are in favor of tougher border security they are doing everything they can to undermine POTUS Donald Trump and his administration’s attempts to protect our country and maintain the integrity of our laws and international boundary.
If Democrats aren’t suing the administration using cherry-picked Left-wing judicial activist judges, they are blocking immigration reform legislation in Congress while actively conspiring to not just circumvent the president but in doing so, violating an international agreement and, perhaps, the law.
As reported by the Washington Examiner, Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-Texas), elected to replace Robert “Beto” O’Rourke who stepped down last year to unsuccessfully challenge Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), has sent representatives to Mexico to talk to migrants sent there as part of the president’s agreement with the Mexican government to harbor asylum seekers while they wait for their cases to be heard in the United States.
According to Customs and Border Protection officials, Escobar’s representatives are coaching migrants on how to exploit a loophole in the agreement, as explained by The National Sentinel:
One of the stipulations of the administration’s “remain in Mexico” policy for those seeking asylum is that they can’t be forced to remain in Mexico unless they’re fluent in Spanish because it could be years before their cases are heard. Some CBP officials say that Escobar’s representatives are bringing some people back from Mexico with them who claim they cannot speak fluent Spanish, though they could before her reps got to them.
“What we’re hearing from management is that they’re attempting to return people, and the story was changed in Mexico, where a person who understood Spanish before now doesn’t understand — where a person who didn’t have any health issues before now has health issues,” a representative for the National Border Patrol Council told the Washington Examiner.
“What we believe is happening is Veronica Escobar’s office is going … to basically second-guess and obstruct work already done by the Border Patrol,” the official added.
The Epoch Times noted that Escobar’s aides and a Catholic diocese have interviewed thousands of people being staged in Juarez, Mexico — across the border from El Paso — to see if any of them are being wrongly held so they can use those cases to push back against the Department of Homeland Security and Trump’s policy.

But there are legal issues here to be considered if, in fact, Escobar is found to be involved in this operation. For one, according to The National Sentinel, she could be in violation of an international agreement that the Executive Branch, constitutionally, has the authority to make.
Also, according to former federal immigration judge Mark Metcalf, Escobar could feasibly be charged with a crime if she is found to be complicit in an attempt to commit fraud. “She's trying to obviously say these people have been wrongly denied their claims and they're waiting when they shouldn't be,” Metcalf told the Washington Examiner.
Fraud would occur, he said, if she and her staff knowingly included false statements into interviews held with migrants as well as follow-up conversations and other documents given to U.S. officials.
One DHS official who is reportedly aware of what’s going on said that Democrats, Left-wing non-profits and 2020 Democratic presidential contenders “are furious that these migrants” aren’t allowed to “await their court dates in the U.S., where they have the opportunity to disappear and slip into the interior never to be seen again.”
“By opposing a system that assists migrants and speeds wait times, these individuals are exposing a cause that looks more like a cover story for their political motivations,” the official said.
Flat out, if Escobar or any other Democrat are found to be assisting migrants in making false statements, the Justice Department needs to start prosecuting them. Enough already.
