And that’s precisely what his lawyer, Harmeet Dhillon, plans to do.
As The Epoch Times reports, Dhillon announced earlier this week that she is planning legal action against the Antifa members who attacked her client:
Ngo, who is known for extensively documenting Antifa violence, was brutally assaulted while he was covering one of the group’s protests on June 29. The scene was captured by a local reporter in video footage that shows Antifa members punching him in the face, kicking him, and hurling cups of a white substance at the journalist.
Portland cops noted after the attack that the ‘white substance’ was a milkshake concoction containing quick dry cement, which had the potential to cause chemical burns.
Earlier, as reported by The National Sentinel, Dhillon threatened legal action against members of the loose-knit organization once considered to be a domestic terrorist movement by Obama’s Department of Homeland Security.
“Goodnight everyone except Antifa criminals who I plan to sue into oblivion and then sow salt into their yoga studios and avocado toast stands until nothing grows there, not even the glimmer of a violent criminal conspiracy aided by the effete impotence of a cowed city government,” Harmeet Dhillon wrote on Twitter. A local reporter for The Oregonian, Jim Ryan, managed to video the attack on Ngo:

After the assault, Ngo was taken to a hospital where he was admitted overnight. In addition to cuts and bruises, he was diagnosed with a brain bleed. Dhillon also took to social media to chastise Leftist journalists and others who claimed that somehow Ngo deserved to be assaulted by Leftist thugs and struck with what some could say was a chemical weapon.
“You sick ‘journalists’ and other hacks gloating about this should be ashamed. As for the rest, please pray for [Andy Ngo] who we need back in health—brave man!” she wrote.
Quillette, Ngo’s employer, said in a June 30 editorial that Antifa members “attacked him for the simple reason that he has challenged their ideological propaganda—an Antifa tactic that any true fascist would recognize and applaud.”
The entire existence of Antifa is based on a lie. The group claims its roots are in the “anti-fascist” movement in Germany, part of the then-Soviet Union’s attempts through front operations to spur a communist revolution within the country.
In the U.S., group members love to claim they, too, are battling the “fascism” of POTUS Donald Trump and his supporters, but they never confront actual fascists. More than anything, Antifa members — who are, variously, communists, anarchists, hard-Leftists, and Marxist radicals — attack anyone who does not agree with their ideology, labeling them “fascists.”
Wheeler was singled out for particular derision following the attack. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) tweeted out a call for a federal probe into the attack and an investigation into Wheeler himself as an accessory because he’s also the police commissioner for Portland; reports claim he ordered his officers to remain “hands-off” during Saturday’s Antifa demonstration.
Wheeler has denied that, but he has a history of politicizing his police force. Last year, he ordered cops not to intervene in assisting federal ICE employees when their workplace was put under siege by Left-wing extremists who badgered and threatened them, simply because he disagrees with Trump’s immigration enforcement policies.
