Governor of Oregon spending millions in taxpayer dollars suing the Trump administration to protect illegals in Oregon
By JD Heyes // Dec 11, 2018

Left-wing progressives can’t stand spending a single taxpayer dollar on national defense as evidenced by the way they constantly complain about the Pentagon’s budget. But they have no problem spending taxpayer dollars to defend people who have no legal right to be in our country.

As such, there is no clamor or outrage over the money Oregon’s Democrat governor is spending to sue the Trump administration in order to protect illegal immigrants living in the Beaver State.

Kate Brown recently submitted her biennium budget (2019-2021), which included $2 million in funding so her state attorney general could finance a lawsuit against the Trump administration over its enforcement of immigration laws.

Meanwhile, she is complaining about a need to “raise revenue” — Leftist doublespeak for ‘raise taxes’ — even going so far as to hiring a “multibillion-dollar” tax-increase propagandist to the tune of $97,000.

So while Leftist Democrats claim they are the ones who have the most “compassion” for “the American working class,” they see nothing wrong burdening them with more taxes in order to defend people in the country illegally — so they can take Americans’ jobs by accepting a lower wage.

Oregon Live reports:

As Gov. Kate Brown gears up to work with legislative Democrats to craft billions of dollars in tax and fee increases, she’s brought on a new staffer specifically to work on that policy.

Christian Gaston, who was the spokesman for Brown’s 2018 re-election campaign, is taking on a new role as the governor’s revenue policy adviser. Both Gaston and Chris Pair, Brown’s communications director, worked for former Gov. John Kitzhaber at the end of his third term and beginning of his fourth term.

Gaston’s annual salary is $97,000, according to the governor’s office.

Other reports note that Brown unveiled a $23.6 billion budget proposal that “plugs holes” in the state’s healthcare funding, while also throwing money at an “ongoing housing crisis” and expanding “access to voting.”

And it also spends “millions” to “challenge the policies” of POTUS Trump’s administration. (Related: Leftists denounce the U.S. protecting its own border with non-lethal tear gas as INVASION wave attempts to breach the border and occupy America.)

Fleecing taxpayers on behalf of illegal aliens

The Salem Reporter adds:

Whether it’s over a travel ban, attempted repeal of the Affordable Care Act or sanctuary policies, Brown and Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum have repeatedly argued that the federal government has become an affront to Oregon values.

“I want to personally thank Governor Brown. The additional funding in her budget will help us continue to protect our environment and defend existing health care, civil and consumer rights as well as our immigration laws,” Rosenblum said in an email to the paper.

What about the rights of the citizens who put POTUS Trump in the White House? For that matter, what about the rights of all citizens in Oregon, most of whom would very likely see such expenditures as an affront to them, economically, especially at a time when Brown wants to raise their taxes?

Their rights apparently don’t matter. And when it comes to protecting illegal aliens, money is no object.

Then again, a majority of voters in Oregon recently reaffirmed the state’s 1987 sanctuary city law, which prohibits state law enforcement agencies from fully cooperating with federal immigration officials. Once upon a time we had a “supremacy clause” in the Constitution which stated clearly that federal laws are superior to and supersede, conflicting state laws.

So if they want to continue to be fleeced by their own state, they’re voting for it in sizable majorities.

That said, not everyone in Oregon is happy with Brown or her decision to raise their taxes in order to finance a legal defense fund for illegal immigrants.

“I am completely surprised that Katie needs help thinking of new ways to tax us. I thought she was a natural at that from her past performance. In fact, I am pretty sure it is her only real skill,” wrote one person in response to the Oregon Live story.

“She just needs ways to figure out how to tax us more while tricking dem voters into thinking it's a good thing,” wrote another.
