Something that is so dark, so sinister, so criminal, and so offensive to the psyche of most Americans that Trump’s Washington enemies — and they are legion — are willing to do and say things that rational people would never do or say.
Such as call on the U.S. military to depose our duly-elected president.
In a tweet this week following the summit, Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tenn., tweeted, “Where are our military folks? The Commander in Chief is in the hands of our enemy!”

As The Daily Wire reported further, Cohen — appearing on far-Left MSNBC, said in January, “Donald Trump is the most despicable human being ever to reside at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue … a narcissistic sociopath doesn’t change. It endangers the country. And war … is something he could get to improve the rating for the [20]18 elections, where [Republicans] are in desperate shape. And will do anything to improve ratings.”
Cohen is also the one who said that disgraced FBI agent Peter Strzok, who had testy exchanges last week with Republican lawmakers during a joint hearing of the House Judiciary and Oversight committees, should receive “a Purple Heart.”
As The Daily Wire noted further:
Cohen does seem to pick and choose when it comes to Communist countries; he has had no problem with Communist Cuba as he was a longtime advocate of normalizing relations with Cuba. He joined former Secretary of State John Kerry when the Obama Administration formally reopened the American embassy in Havana, then later accompanied Barack Obama when he visited Havana.
So, in other words, Cohen is another Marxist/Communist disguised as a Democrat because up to this point that’s the only way he could win elections in Tennessee. That’s changing; the Democratic Party is being taken over by Marxists and Communists, so perhaps soon Cohen can reveal his true political policy allegiance. (Related: OBVIOUS: Democrats are willing to see America overrun and destroyed just so they can WIN future elections.)
But outside of that, consider the context of Cohen’s message: He’s calling on the military to launch a coup against a duly-elected president of the United States who committed no offense.
Meeting with leaders of other countries is what presidents do. It’s called diplomacy. It’s called foreign policy. In Trump’s case, he’s trying to build a rapport with a nuclear-armed leader he knows perfectly well has not behaved well towards the U.S. or its allies, but whom he believes an improved relationship can mitigate.
The Obama administration tried exactly the same thing. One of Obama’s first diplomatic outreaches after taking office was to send his secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, to meet with Russia leaders. They called it a “reset,” not treason.
In fact, if you want to get technical, negotiating in secret with a country that has vowed to attack us and our allies and which our government has sanctioned and placed on a list of terrorist-sponsoring nations — Iran — is much closer to treason than what Trump did in plain view.
But none dared call it that back then. Certainly, Cohen didn’t.
There are protests already planned for more than 90 cities in the U.S. following Trump’s summit with Putin. The theme this time: Trump — President America First — is a “traitor.”
It’s not the protesting that’s uncalled for, it’s the message that Democrats and Left-wing pundits are pushing during these protests. Treason is a serious charge and ought not to be flung about haphazardly.
As for Cohen, he is working with the Left to normalize outrage. That will have serious consequences for our country not far down the road, no matter which party is in power.
