It’s beginning to look more and more like Barack Hussein Obama behaved less like an American president throughout his administration and much more like the Stalinist leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un.
During his administration, we saw one scandal after another — Fast and Furious; IRS targeting of conservative groups; Benghazi; targeting of journalists for “Espionage Act” violations — get brushed under the rug by sycophant liberals in the “mainstream media,” even after they were targeted.
Now we learn that the highly politicized FBI — elements of which were used by the Obama administration to illegally spy on President Donald J. Trump’s campaign — also targeted a conservative filmmaker because he dared ‘criticize the king’ (didn’t we fight a revolution specifically for the right to criticize those in power?).
And once he was targeted, just like the old Soviet Union or today’s North Korea, Dinesh D’Souza was sent to ‘reeducation camp’ so he could ‘get his mind right.
D’Souza faced nothing less than political persecution over his film “2016: Obama’s America,” which wasn’t complimentary of the 44th president. Following the film’s release, he was indicted for “illegal campaign contributions.” But clearly, it was an obvious witch hunt from the outset.
According to the indictment, D’Souza was charged with “violating the federal campaign finance laws by making illegal contributions to a United States Senate campaign in the names of others and causing false statements to be made to the Federal Election Commission in connection with those contributions.”
And while he pleaded guilty to charges he arranged to have two close associates each contribute to New York Republican Wendy Long’s failed U.S. Senate bid, serving several months in a community confinement center and five years probation, he took to Twitter this week with a series of powerful statements.
“If Obama ordered surveillance on @realDonaldTrump in 2016, I wonder if he ordered it on me in 2012, leading to my selective prosecution,” he began.
He went onto to say that his file, which was obtained by a House panel, shows that the FBI red-flagged him as a “critic of Obama,” then allocated $100,000 to investigate a $20,000 case.
“My file — obtained by the House Oversight Committee — shows FBI red-flagged me as an Obama critic & allocated $100k to investigate a $20k case.”
D’Souza, a former policy adviser to President Ronald Reagan, went on to criticize Obama’s corrupt band of (alleged) criminals in his Department of Justice including former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, who was fired by Trump in March after he refused to step down voluntarily from his position, as is customary for U.S. attorneys when they are appointed by the previous president. Oh, and by the way, Bharara was the prosecutor in D’Souza’s case.
“A TIME FOR TRUTH: The corruption ring involved in my case extends to FBI, Eric Holder’s DOJ & also that Indian water-carrier @PreetBharara,” D’Souza — who is also a native of India — tweeted further.
“It is absolutely critical that officials in the FBI entrusted with so much power be SEVERELY PUNISHED if & when that power is abused,” he continued. “APOCALYPSE NOW DEPT: Imagine if the FBI has been working diligently to take down Hillary [Clinton]. What would the mainstream media say?”
Oh, I think I know what they would say. You’d think that the investigation had everything to do with the fact that she is a woman, or that she’s just being picked on because she’s a Clinton, or that it’s part of some “vast Right-wing conspiracy.”
Not because she’s actually guilty of anything.
There is clearly a double standard at work here, and it was evident to D’Souza when he was being sentenced by the U.S. district court judge, Richard Berman.
“I’m not sure, Mr. D’Souza, that you get it,” said Berman, who was referring to D’Souza’s claim that he was a victim of selective prosecution.
