Now that the Wuhan coronavirus (CoVid-19) has reached every continent on planet earth, authorities are ramping up their efforts to introduce a novel vaccine that they claim will protect the public against infection. But according to Health and Human Services (HHS) head Alex Azar, it will probably only be accessible to rich people.
During a recent hearing, Azar explained on the record that while it would be nice for a coronavirus vaccine to be affordable for all, the reality of the situation is that it will likely be so prohibitively expensive that only the upper crust will be able to purchase it.
“We would want to ensure that we work to make it affordable, but we can’t control that price because we need the private sector to invest,” he’s quoted as saying. “The priority is to get vaccines and therapeutics, and price controls won’t get us there.”
Even though taxpayers are the ones actually paying for the research into a future coronavirus vaccine, only the rich will likely be able to afford it once it’s released because taxpayer-subsidized Big Pharma is sure to jack up the price for maximum profits.
Listen below as Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, shares some interesting details about the bioterrorism elements inherent to the Wuhan coronavirus (CoVid-19):
It’s important to note, here, that Azar used to be the president of pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly. He was also a member of the board of directors for a major pharmaceutical lobbying group.
Add to that the fact that Azar also ran a consultancy firm that advised biotechnology and healthcare companies about profit-generating strategies and it becomes clear that this guy doesn’t have the best interests of the public at heart, and is just another pharma hack-turned-government official who works as an industry gatekeeper.
During a more recent hearing, Azar, after being pressed again about an affordable coronavirus vaccine, stated that his agency “will work to ensure that there are appropriate protections to ensure the affordability of any vaccine produced out of joint venture work that taxpayers are funding,” adding that his agency has “some purely private sector endeavors.”
In other words, there might perhaps be one affordable coronavirus vaccine amid many other more expensive ones once they’re all commercially released more than a year from now.
“The ruling class has just declared they intend to use biological warfare to thin the masses,” wrote one Twitter user in response to Azar’s statements at these hearings.
“No problem, vaccines for the rich, thoughts and prayers for the working class,” wrote another.
Despite his obvious conflicts of interest, Azar has been appointed by the Trump administration as the official chair of the coronavirus task force, meaning his job will be to help manage the outcome of the disease once it really starts to spread here in the United States.
President Donald Trump has repeatedly reassured the American public that everything is a-okay and not to worry, even as he appoints Vice President Mike Pence to head up tackling coronavirus on behalf of America’s public safety.
“People feel better because it looks like you’re doing something,” says Tom Scully, the former administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) under former President George W. Bush.
“It’s more public relations than anything,” he contends, noting that former President Barack Obama appointed Ron Klain as the “czar” to oversee the Ebola crisis of 2014.
In other words, these are just figureheads appointed as overseers to make it seem as though the situation is under control, even when it likely isn’t.
