Ex-Israeli special forces agent admits to going “undercover” at UCLA protest encampment in partnership with local police
By Ethan Huff // May 09, 2024

The Zionist infiltration of United States law enforcement was on full display the other day after an Israeli special operations veteran was caught boasting online about running a "quiet infiltration operation" within the Gaza solidarity encampment at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Aaron Cohen reportedly posted to X that he played a part in working alongside "LASD," possibly referring to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department or the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, to stage and prepare forced entry "to begin taking down the pro terror antisemitic encampment."

Middle East Eye reached out to numerous law enforcement divisions in the Los Angeles area to try to determine which one Cohen was referring to, but reportedly did not receive any response for comment or clarification.

Middle East conflict spreads to America

Cohen's X post ended up going viral with about five million views, sparking fresh interest from members of the public concerning the level of involvement Israel and its military has in coordinating the way law enforcement is behaving across the United States.

"We have seen over the years what some might describe as the Israelisation of our law enforcement, which is the phenomena of American law enforcement agents being trained by Israeli trainers, who are either former military or police officers," commented Hussam Ayloush, director of the Los Angeles chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (Cair-LA).

According to reports, Ayloush visited the student encampment multiple times over the past several weeks, including on one occasion when he was personally invited by the students to deliver a sermon for Muslim students as they held an on-site Friday prayer.

During his appearance, Ayloush said he witnessed several instances in which outsiders were instigating the protesters and causing trouble.

"I was there at UCLA and I did see people like Aaron Cohen," Ayloush commented. "I'm talking about fearmongers. I would say professional instigators and propagandists who represent the extreme right of Israeli politics with all its bigotry, violence, and dehumanization."

"What are they doing? They're trying to instigate violence against overwhelmingly peaceful, diverse students."

Trouble really started to brew on April 25 when UCLA's encampment became official, this not long after a similar one popped up at Columbia University. Students and faculty members alike who participated say they want their respective universities to divest from companies that are profiting from Israel's war in Gaza.

According to a report from the Daily Bruin, the campus newspaper of UCLA, pro-Israel counter-protestors invaded the camp on April 30 and started behaving violently. They set off fireworks in the direction of the protesters and also released noxious gas of some kind.

By 2 a.m. on May 1, dozens of police officers were present on the scene, but initially they stood by and did nothing while the counter-protestors engaged with and antagonized the protestors.

On May 2, police in riot gear swept the encampment and used flash bangs and rubber bullets to further disrupt the protests in an attempt to disperse the crowd.

"LASD, this is the biggest sheriff's agency in the country with some of the finest deputies that I've worked with," Cohen continued. "And their capabilities, their tactics are incredible for diffusing a situation like this."

"It's really important right now to support law enforcement. These are the peacemakers out here. And these are the guys that are going to be risking their life."
